Blank Welding is a full service shipyard located at mile marker 22.5 on the Monongahela River. For over 30 years Blank Welding has served its customers with quality service. We offer a wide variety of services including - new construction, repairs, engineering & design, machine shop, custom fabrication, crane service, dredging, river construction and towing service. Blank Welding has the experience and ability to design and construct equipment using our computer-aided design capabilities. Blank Welding can perform above water repairs and with the use of our 1000 ton drydock and 400 ton marine ways we can accomplish under water repairs. We are also able to do towboat repairs ranging from minor repairs to complete overhauls. With the use of our 500 ton press and CNC burning table, Blank Welding can handle custom fabrication requirements.

Rivers of Steel

Rivers of Steel is a non-profit educational organization that operates a river learning center for students, teachers and the community of Southwestern Pennsylvania. The company was founded in 1991 as "Pittsburgh Voyager" by a group of parents who wanted use Pittsburgh's rivers as an experiential classroom to get children excited about science, mathematics and learning. Voyager began doing business as "RiverQuest" in 2006. Rivers of Steel programs engage students of all ages in hands-on learning while exploring Pittsburgh's Three Rivers. The rivers themselves are at the center of Rivers of Steel's education program. A specially constructed state-of-the art green educational vessel, Explorer, arrived in Pittsburgh in late 2008 and began full service to schools and the community in 2009.
